Mysoft has harnessed its 20+ years of experience with Sage, to ensure that every Sage Intacct project is successful. Mysoft appreciates that every Sage Intacct project is unique in its own merit and each client has different requirements, capabilities, data metrics and processes. In order to offer customers the best implementation experience possible, we adopt a standardised implementation method where possible and offer fully customised and bespoke implementation when required in a single project. This means that your Sage Intacct solution will be up and running faster whilst incurring less implementation costs, but benefit from customisations your business needs to succeed.

How long can a project take to deliver?

Every ERP implementation project is unique in its own merit as each client has a set different set of requirements, capabilities and data metrics. One can adopt, as a rough rule of thumb, a reasonable metric to estimate project timelines, however, it is noteworthy to mention that these are estimates without any prior knowledge of the project.
Based on our extensive experience, we estimate between 10 and 25 service days of work required to implement Sage Intaact. Which means your system can be live faster than traditional solutions. However, the go-live time will vary on other factors such as number of external add-ons and customer’s own timeline for data migration. For an accurate delivery time, please contact us.

Project management, which typically accounts for between 15% and 25% of a System Integrator’s time spent on a project, is a concurrent activity.  It continues throughout the project and takes place alongside other services.

Applications Consultancy (scoping, workshops, design, build, etc.) is typically delivered in a sequential fashion; with the component activities forming a ‘natural flow’ within a single subject taking place from end to end.  This may run in an interspersed fashion with the other subjects, in order to ensure a holistic vision is appreciated of the operation, however, typically each sub-phase will be completed before commencing the next (i.e. build is complete before testing can commence).  Therefore it is prudent to plan this as a sequential volume of days.  Applications consultancy makes up the bulk of any ERP project.

Development typically takes place parallel to the project, running in its own stream; but will be contingent upon core system build for implementation to be completed. Therefore must be viewed as a “complexity factor”.  There is no metric for this, as is is based on a case-by-case requirement.

Training typically takes place in waves throughout a project, and while other activities can theoretically take place at the same time it is traditional that training takes place at phases of the project which are lighter on other service provider activity (early days and pre-UAT) – therefore this is best planned sequentially. Training volumes range from project to project, but let’s estimate ~10% of a project is training.

Most businesses are trying to actually continue to run a business around a project, not just engage in the deployment of a system; and in many cases, the project team is not purely dedicated to the deployment of the project, but rather taking the project on alongside their core role.  As such, most businesses cannot absorb 20 days of consultancy and training in any given month.  One may expect a load of around 10-12 days per month may be reasonable for a business to accommodate.

Working on the basis that some data will need to be migrated over there will inevitably be a data cleansing exercise, which is always best performed by the business rather than the partner.

If you have adequate resource to clean and format the data for migration in parallel to the build phase of the project then there is no reason for this to extend or delay the project.  However, high-quality data is required not only for go-live but also for UAT, therefore it is imperative that this is undertaken from as early a stage as possible in the project.  If large volumes are being migrated, inevitably longer activity times will be associated with this and therefore this has the risk of elongating the project.

On the lower end of the scale, a project can take 10-15 service days and delivery timelines of 2-3 months.

On the upper end of the scale, a project takes 20-25 service days on average and delivery timelines of 3-4 months.

These timelines are estimated based on previous average projects, however, it is very important for customers to look within and be realistic about how much consultancy they can absorb in a given month, what state their data is in, and how long it will take them to migrate the data.

Frequently Asked questions

How long does a Sage Intaact project take?

Answering this question is similar to saying how long is a piece of string. It is very difficult to give an accurate answer to a question with many unknown variables.

The project timeline will depend on the level of customisation required, the number of add-on modules purchased and the users’ data migration timeline.

As mentioned above, on the lower end, we estimate around 10-15 service days delivered in between 4-8 weeks (depending on how many consultancy days you can absorb per month), to the upper end taking between 20-25 service days delivered in 12-16 weeks.

How much does Sage Intaact cost?

The cost can vary from business to business. With this in mind, Sage Intacct core will cost from £6,750 for the basic package license, plus implementation cost. Companies that require the basic package often require less customisation and are able to go live faster. The expectation is around 10-15 service days to be added for deployment costs.

The costs can then rise from there, depending on whether an organisation wants to go with Sage Intacct Pro, which starts at £10,147 or go with Sage Intacct Bespoke, which as the name suggests, doesn’t follow a standard or minimum pricing, and will be priced on a case by case basis.

Does Mysoft offer a fast implmentation method?

Yes, we do. Although we don’t call it fast-track or quickstart,  for companies who are looking to go live quickly and don’t require a large number of customisations, we adopt a pre-configured to best practice model and are able to go live in a short period of time.
